RIFE International wins multi-million 5-year State Of Maryland Buildings Energy-Efficiency Contract

RIFE International has been awarded a contract with the Department of General Services (DGS or the Department) to provide Energy Efficiency Work & Related Services for nearly over 17-million-square-feet properties owned, leased and managed by the State of Maryland.

This is consistent with the state’s commitment to pursue cost-effective facility improvement initiatives that boost energy efficiency as a method of lowering both the energy expenses and the environmental impact of the facilities.

Background, Purpose and Goals:

Governor Hogan signed an Executive Order in June 2019 establishing the “Maryland Leads by Example” energy-savings project, with the objective of lowering energy use in State-owned facilities by 10% by 2029 compared to a Fiscal Year 2018 baseline. DGS is a key player in aiding agencies in their efforts to meet that aim. DGS highlighted the need for certified energy contracting businesses to be available under a State contract to assist agencies in completing efficiency projects at their facilities as part of that function.

RIFE will be joining other contractors with expertise managing initiatives aimed at lowering a facility’s energy usage on this contract.

RIFE is excited to be a part of the State of Maryland’s commitment as it aligns with the organization’s goals of providing solutions that impact governments, institutions, and private industry in ways that optimize efficiency, mission fulfillment, profitability, and growth- RIFE President and CEO, Kwabena Osei-Sarpong.
