RIFE is excited to share another major step forward in our commitment to sustainability and energy equity! RIFE International, in partnership with Empower New Energy, has successfully completed a 507kWp solar grid-tied system for the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) at the Ministry of Communications in Ghana.
This innovative system is powering NITA’s 24/7 data center, reducing operational costs, improving system reliability, and supporting the Ministry’s clean energy goals. Here’s a look at the project’s incredible impact:
Annual Production: 705,313 kWh/year
Environmental Impact: 493 metric tons of CO2 saved annually (equivalent to removing 551 vehicles off the road each year!)
Energy Independence: Providing the majority of energy during peak hours, reducing reliance on the grid.
Through a flexible hybrid design, the system seamlessly integrates solar, grid, and generator power—ensuring uninterrupted operations during any power outages. This system not only saves energy but also paves the way for a greener, more sustainable future for Ghana.
We’re proud to be part of this transformational project and to contribute to Ghana’s energy future. The 25-year lifetime of this solar system reflects our long-term commitment to sustainable, impactful solutions that deliver real change.
A huge thanks to Empower New Energy for co-developing and financing the project, and to NITA for trusting us to bring their vision to life.
