RIFE International won this grant two years in a row-2016 and 2017-from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of International Investment and Trade’s ExportMD Program. The grants, which were a monetary value, are being used by RIFE to provide energy efficiency solutions in Africa, including Ghana and South Africa. The grant helped RIFE attend and participate in Africa Utility Week while developing energy efficiency projects in Ghana and South Africa. The grant award also resulted in RIFE working with a mall in Accra, Ghana to adopt energy efficiency practices that will eventually yield close to a million dollars in energy savings over a ten year period.
Stated Kwabena Osei-Sarpong, president and CEO, “We are truly honored to have been selected for these awards and for the help they provide our organization as we expand into the African market. This access is allowing us to make a mark in an emerging market while providing key energy efficiency services to organizations that need them.”
