The Smithsonian Institution (SI) is a unique conglomeration of nearly 12 million square feet of space located within 614 maintained facilities and structures of varying size, age and architecture variety in 8 states, Washington, DC, and Panama, Belize and Guyana.
Since 2014, RIFE International has provided construction management and renovation and building improvement services for Smithsonian facilities across the country under an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity Contracts (IDIQ). This project is still ongoing till 2025.
Facilities include 19 museums and the National Zoo which welcome nearly 12 million visitirs annually; 9 active research centers with laboratories and dormitories; state-of-the-art storage and restoration facilities for one-of-a-kind treasures of artistic, historical, and scientific significance; and venues for public and private gatherings.
