RIFE International is proud to have participated in the recent Albrecht High School Fellowship session, “Leveraging Technology as a Catalyst for Change,” hosted at Open Works Baltimore. The event served as a dynamic platform for high school students to explore the transformative role of technology in addressing real-world challenges and creating positive community impact.
RIFE International’s Commitment to Technology-Driven Community Development
Our CEO, Kwabena Osei-Sarpong, was honored to speak with the Fellows about RIFE International’s mission to drive sustainable development through innovative, technology-based solutions. From implementing clean energy infrastructure in Ghana to revitalizing communities in Baltimore, his remarks showcased how purposeful innovation can reshape lives and neighborhoods.
Kwabena shared how RIFE leverages smart technologies and data-driven strategies to enhance energy access, improve infrastructure, and support resilient communities. His message centered on the belief that technology is not just a tool for efficiency—it is a powerful vehicle for equity, empowerment, and long-term change.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators
The session was part of a broader initiative to help students understand how innovation can be applied to real-life issues—from environmental sustainability to inclusive development. Through engaging discussions and firsthand insights, Kwabena encouraged the students to explore careers in STEM, clean energy, and social entrepreneurship.
He also emphasized the importance of ethical innovation, collaboration, and local empowerment as essential components of sustainable change. The Fellows left the session energized and equipped with new ideas on how they, too, can use technology to make a difference in their communities.
