RIFE International CEO Earns Spot On Washington Business Journal 40 Under 40 List

RIFE International CEO Kwabena Osei-Sarpong earned a spot on 2018 Washington Business Journal’s (WBJ) 40 Under 40 list.

The list was compiled of “[standouts] in his or her industry, climbing the ranks at a young age while still finding time to impact the Greater Washington community.”

A former Apex Society 30 Under 30 list winner, Osei-Sarpong was recognized for his achievements in business and civic engagement, both in the local U.S economy and markets overseas. With domestic offices in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, Baltimore, MD, and an international office in Accra, Ghana; Mr. Osei-Sarpong’s RIFE team is poised to continue expanding into markets in need of energy efficiency and sustainable development solutions.

To date, RIFE has executed several projects, engagements and studies for a number of Fortune 500, Federal, State, and Municipal clients. RIFE has provided services to high-profile clients ranging from the Smithsonian Institution, U.S Department of Energy, Bank of America, Hilton Hotels and Johnson Controls, Inc., to name a few. RIFE is also implementing energy cost-saving measures for overseas clients comprising of both the government and the private-sector.

RIFE International was also the recipient of 2018, 2017 and 2016 international grant award to promote its trade efforts in energy efficiency and sustainable construction in markets across the United States, Africa and parts of Europe with support from the Maryland office of the U.S. Department of Commerce. In May 2018, Mr. Osei-Sarpong was invited as a guest speaker at the largest power, energy, and water conference – African Utility Week Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, where he shared insights on how to provide universal access to energy efficiency and sustainable development solutions. As a subject matter expert, he has also been called upon to provide advice to the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

Other notable accolades in Mr. Osei-Sarpong’s portfolio include 2015 Business of the Year awarded by Montgomery County Department of Economic Development for Small Businesses; and the 2014 Top 100 MBE firm in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the Mayor’s Office of Baltimore. Mr. Osei-Sarpong serves as an advisory board member for ENACTUS, on the Government and Business Leaders for Radford University his Almer Mater, and as a Master Coach for the Skinner Leadership Institute in Washington D.C. He is a former president and Board member of the African American Real Estate Professionals of Washington D.C. and the Educational Accessibility for Children in Hardship Foundation in Ghana. He also previously served as a board member of the African Diaspora for Change Foundation in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Mr. Osei-Sarpong holds a Masters degree from Georgetown University with a focus on sustainable development and an executive education certificate from Harvard Business School.

To honor Osei-Sarpong and other winners, a special awards event will take place on June 26, 2018, at the PNC Diamond Club at Nationals Park. A special section of the Washington Business Journal is also set to publish on June 29, 2018.
